Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.

Misratah is Libya’s third-largest city and contains the headquarters of several major Libyan companies, such as the Libyan Iron and Steel Company. Its importance as a commercial center is second only to Tripoli, and it is a manufacturing hub as well.
Misratah is about 125 miles east of Tripoli and about 150 miles west of Sirte.
