On the Move: The faces, places, and politics of migration

Never before have so many people – 70 million – been forcibly displaced from their homes. Millions more have chosen to leave in search of a better life. And traditional politics have been thrown into disarray.

How should nations respond? In our new series, “On the move,” Monitor reporters share perspectives in pivotal places across globe, from Tanzania’s bold resettlement experiment to Sweden’s tightening asylum regime.

Global migration doesn’t start or stop at borders. We launched “On the move” to give you the bigger picture.
