Paula Rogo is the Africa Editor and staff writer for the Monitor based in Boston. 

She previously worked for PBS’ Washington Week and the PBS Newshour, where she worked on the web-teams for both news organizations.

She was a 2015 International Center for Journalists (ICFJ’s) “Bringing Home the World” fellow, with which she traveled to Nigeria to report on the impact of the Boko Haram insurgency on education.

She is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Columbia’s University’s School of Journalism. She is also proudly Kenyan.

Why is Christian Science in our name?

Our name is about honesty. The Monitor is owned by The Christian Science Church, and we’ve always been transparent about that.
