8. 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'

Stieg Larsson's best-selling novel about a punked-out young computer hacker and a journalist who team up to solve a cold murder case was published in Sweden in 2005. The Hollywood film version garnered a Best Actress nod for Rooney Mara and nominations for Best Cinematography, Film Editing, Sound Editing, and Sound Mixing.
