"We were sitting in our kitchen and were about to have lunch. A friend called up and said, 'Turn on the television, Kennedy has been shot!' We turned it on, just as the cortege was arriving at the Parkland Hospital. Like most people I know, we never turned it off until the funeral was over.... That was certainly a time we shall never forget and it still fills us with horror and sorrow."
