Home to one of America’s most breathtaking natural tourist attractions, overlooking the famed horseshoe falls, the city on the US-Canadian border relies heavily on tourism, says Sam Talarico, broker-owner of Coldwell Banker Talarico in nearby Lewiston, N.Y. Although Niagara Falls has been losing population (down 17 percent in nearly 20 years), or perhaps because of it, the city offers the nation’s best deal in suburban housing. A four-bedroom home is less than 1/40th the cost of the same home in Newport Beach, Calif.
So if he could move his home to Newport Beach, would Mr. Talarico do it? “I'd put it there, but sell it and probably come back East,” he says. “I’m in the right place.”
