NBA title contenders: Which teams have the most championships?

5. 3 teams with 3 titles

The Golden State Warriors, Detroit Pistons, and Philadelphia 76ers all have won three NBA championships apiece.

The Warriors franchise got its start in Philadelphia, winning two titles there in 1947 and 1956. The team's third title came in its current home of Oakland, California in 1975.

The 76ers franchise started off as the Syracuse Nationals and won an NBA championship in 1955. The team's other two titles came in Philadelphia in 1967 and 1983.

All three Piston NBA titles were earned while the team has been in Detroit, following their move from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, in 1957.
