Floyd Patterson won the heavyweight crown twice in his career. The first time, in 1956, he defeated Archie Moore for the title. At age 21 years, 10 months, Patterson became the youngest man to win the heavyweight boxing crown. After losing his title to Ingemar Johansson in 1959, Patterson became the first man to win the crown for a second time when he bested Johansson in a 1960 rematch. He would lose the championship two years later to Sonny Liston.
