Small-scale protests and clashes throughout Bahrain over the weekend seemed like they could turn into much larger clashes Monday as protesters prepared for a "day of rage" and police prepared to squash it. The Bahraini government has already tried to halt unrest by promising $2,650 to each family in the country, but that has not seemed to satisfy the country's Shiite majority, which is unhappy living under a Sunni government, Reuters reports. Some wonder if an uprising by Bahrain's Shiites could inspire the Shiites of neighboring Saudi Arabia.
