Newt Gingrich gave voice to conservatives who believe that President Obama’s political beliefs are un-American by telling the National Review Online in September that Mr. Obama has a “Kenyan anticolonial” worldview.
“This is a person who is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, as a result of which he is now president,” said Mr. Gingrich.
Gingrich’s comment was derived from a Forbes article by conservative Dinesh D’Souza, who pins the president as being influenced by the anticolonial ideology of his Kenyan father.
